Vacation apartments in Barcelona
Barcelona is one of the largest tourist destinations not only in Europe, but in the world. For a comfortable alternative to hotels, consider choosing short-term apartment rentals in Barcelona that constitute a successful and secure market in Europe.
Rental apartments in Barcelona cost less than hotel rooms of comparable sizes, and yet offer you a real home where you would love to come back after a day out in Barcelona.
You get all the advantages of independent living and working in a rental apartment: you may choose to cook in a fully-equipped kitchen, you may entertain guests in the living room, you have the privacy of your own bedroom. Would you have all that in a hotel? More and more travellers prefer to rent an apartment in Barcelona for these reasons.
If you frequently travel with family or friends, you know how difficult it may be to book adjacent spacious rooms in a hotel. 1-, 2- or 3-bedroom apartments in Barcelona are easy to find. What is more, you pay per apartment, not per guest, which allows you to cut rental costs considerably, and spend quality time together.
Barcelona is a city you would not want to leave and where you would love to come back, but if you are set on more exploring, we also offer apartment, cottage and villa short-term and long-term rentals all over Europe and North America!

Restaurants in Gràcia

Carrer Gran de Gràcia 81
Tel. 932 184 230
Botafumeiro is decorated with countless framed photographs of celebrities – including political leaders, actors, directors, musicians – dining at the establishment and posing with the owner (and chef) Moncho Neira. This comes as no surprise: while La Barca del Salamanca is the greatest casual seafood experience in Barcelona, Botafumeiro wins as the most refined, expensive and famous one. Its reputation precedes it, and it nigh impossible to get in on weekends after 9 pm without a reservation or a long wait. In the direst of circumstances, you may have to settle for Taberna del Cura next door.

Botafumeiro specializes in shellfish, flown from Galicia daily and preserved in the aquariums near the entrance. Their rice-based dishes (including paellas) and desserts are excellent as well. Some meat-based items are available on the menu, but why would you bother, when you can have Galician octopus (Pulpo a la Gallego), lobster or crab plate, cooked with great mastery and served with the same level of imagination? Do not hesitate to ask the waiting staff for suggestions – they are never wrong in recommending a dish you are sure to enjoy.

Botafumeiro portions are positively enormous; the wine list is lengthy; the price tags almost heart-stopping... but the bill is well worth it in the end.

La Taberna del Cura

Carrer Gran de Gràcia 83

La Taberna del Cura is one of those versatile posh places, where servers wear ties, tables are covered with white tablecloth, and much thought is clearly put into the décor of the dining room. Yet the great food served in La Taberna del Cura looks absolutely simple on the verge of being homemade (which may actually explain its deliciousness). There is this subtle balance between casual and high-class, that would allow you to equally impress a business partner, a significant other or your mom regardless of when you come in.

Lunches in La Taberna del Cura deserve a special note, however, since their menu del día is hands-down the cheapest in Barcelona: for 6.90€ you get Catalan tomato bread, a salad, soup, a main course, and a dessert, all of which are different every single day. Most items on the menu del día do not appear in the regular menu either. Of course, since this fixed-price selection does not include drinks nor coffee or tea, the cost of meal will add up to approximately 10€, should you decide to order something extra. Even so, the quality of food served and the price for it provide incredible value.

La Taberna del Cura offers a similarly impressive dinner prix fixe menu, called “Menú del Festival”, for 18€, and traditional Catalan and Spanish selections à la carte, as well as an extensive wine list. Seafood may be ordered from its sister establishment next door, Botafumeiro.

This Zagat-rated restaurant on a quiet street in Vila de Gràcia is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you are invited to drop by anytime for its healthy, most of it gluten-free or vegetarian, imaginative dishes. The dinner menu includes meat and fish options, as well as delicious starters and home-made desserts. The restaurant is small, the chairs may be a bit uncomfortable, and the reservations may be required even on weeknights, but the food is so good, that it is all worth the trouble (for now). Why? Well, Gut comes across as one of those hard-working stylish restaurants that start off well with their service and fare, but slowly deteriorate in quality as its tables fill and its popularity increases. We hope to be wrong, but even if we are not, you still have time to try its beet-strawberry gazpacho (simply exquisite!).

A simple, but cozy place in a back alley in Gràcia is great for a glass of wine with friends or a light meal. Dinner menu varies from night to night, with salads generally being the most refreshing and interesting choices. Main courses have not left a lasting impression, but since the wine selection is decently varied, with wines from Catalunya (most notably Priorat) and Rioja present, boring meat/fish dishes can be forgiven. Friendly wait staff is a great plus.

Oh, but it's not French! Disguised as yet another café in Barcelona, Amélie is actually far from being a typical place. Its prices are above average and may scare away a potential visitor looking through its menu, but do not be alarmed, because the food - tapas, salads, sandwiches, main courses and desserts - is all worth it. Furthermore, Amélie offers hot breakfast in the mornings, which is not that easy to find in Barcelona, even if much easier than a few years ago.

The desserts in Amélie are especially noteworthy: each crafted by hand by the in-house Brazilian dessert chef, they are sure to please guests with the most demanding sweet tooth. Our favourites are passion fruit cheesecake and Baileys panna cotta with wild berries jam, not to mention the always excellent coffee.
