Vacation apartments in Barcelona
Barcelona is one of the largest tourist destinations not only in Europe, but in the world. For a comfortable alternative to hotels, consider choosing short-term apartment rentals in Barcelona that constitute a successful and secure market in Europe.
Rental apartments in Barcelona cost less than hotel rooms of comparable sizes, and yet offer you a real home where you would love to come back after a day out in Barcelona.
You get all the advantages of independent living and working in a rental apartment: you may choose to cook in a fully-equipped kitchen, you may entertain guests in the living room, you have the privacy of your own bedroom. Would you have all that in a hotel? More and more travellers prefer to rent an apartment in Barcelona for these reasons.
If you frequently travel with family or friends, you know how difficult it may be to book adjacent spacious rooms in a hotel. 1-, 2- or 3-bedroom apartments in Barcelona are easy to find. What is more, you pay per apartment, not per guest, which allows you to cut rental costs considerably, and spend quality time together.
Barcelona is a city you would not want to leave and where you would love to come back, but if you are set on more exploring, we also offer apartment, cottage and villa short-term and long-term rentals all over Europe and North America!

Festivals in Barcelona

Primavera Sound, the end of May

One of Barcelona's hottest music events of the summer, Primavera Sound is a three-day music party bash that usually falls on the last week of May. The main stage of the festival is Parc del Fòrum, which is taken over by the best-known names in indie, rock and electronic music for these three days. Due to its spiking popularity, the Primavera Sound festival expands every year and does not shy away from adding more intimate club concerts into its program. To the sheer joy of the public, some free concerts in the central part of Barcelona are now also part of the fun.

Here are some examples of Primavera Sound programming in previous years:

The area is well-serviced by the public transit system of Barcelona. There are day passes, night passes and all-inclusive passes to Sónar events – due to its popularity it is wise to book well in advance.

La Mercè Festival, the end of September

Barcelona's biggest festival, Festes de la Mercè, begins a few days before September 24 and goes on for a few more days after. The 24th of September is the day of celebration of Our Lady of Mercy (La Mare de Déu de la Mercè), Barcelona's second most important patron saint (along with Saint George). The parading of her portrait along the city streets, from the Mercè church all the way to the harbour, is an important part of the festival. September 24 is a public holiday and it serves as a good excuse for week-long festivities that culminate in traditional eye-popping fireworks at the waterfront.

The majority of unique festive elements of Catalan-style celebrations can be encountered at the Mercè: you will see demons with sparklers chasing bystanders on the streets; human castles made out of athletic young and not so young people reaching high; traditional gegants (giants) stomping along in colourful processions; locals joining hands and getting ready to dance the sardana, a popular Catalan circle-dance. All over Barcelona there are open-air concerts, cycling races, activities for children, and family-oriented events going on. On September 24th many museums and galleries offer free admission to all.
